Typing Games for Computer Centers

Computers are a huge part of our lives.  In MOST jobs you need basic computer skills and to keep up this the changing times, it is EXTREMELY important that students know how to type and use computers with ease.  It actually surprises me that we don't have a computer class here at Hollywood considering I remember taking computers in 5th and 6th grade.  Regardless, students can easily practice typing at home if a computer is available.  Students know how to play Angry Birds and games using the arrows up, down, left, and right, but most still search for each letter at an extremely slow pace when typing.  In middle school, high school, college, and throughout adult life, typing is important.  The faster/better you are at typing and navigating a computer, the better.  Soooo.... here are some typing websites to practice at home.  They are fun and engaging, but useful too.  You all know I can type quickly so I challenge you!  Practice throughout the year and come June I will have a "TYPE-OFF" with someone.  If you win, we will discuss your prize.  Good Luck!!!

  1. These games look great. Typing from an early age is really helpful. I type fast now because I was able to start so early, so it's great to see this type of free computer game being offered to 4th graders.
